Noale

Noale in fiore - Palio di Noale
Infiorata del Corpus Domini

The charming and buzzing town of Noale, situated in the green lands of the Venetian plain, is a municipality of the province of Venice where the medieval atmosphere is most intensely lived and where at the same time you can enjoy the dynamism of modern life. The town is located only about 20 km from historic commercial cities such as Venice-Mestre, Padua, Treviso, Catselfranco Veneto, Asolo, Possagno, etc. The central location of Noale allows easy access to other important cities such as Verona, Vicenza and Bassano del Grappa.

Our medieval town had its most splendor period under the Lordship of the Tempesta family who ruled the country from 1158 to 1343. Some of our most beautiful monuments come precisely from that period and remained almost intact to the present days, therefore they deserve a visit. The most iconic sights are: the large entrance gates lead to the historical center of the town, equipped with battlements, more known as the Clock Tower and the Bell Tower and the remains of the fortress of the Tempesta family, called “Rocca”.

In Castello square (Piazza Castello, called Campazzo) stands the Archpriest Church, where you can admire: the altarpiece of Palma the Younger, the altar by Sansovino, the large wooden painting presumed to be the work of Lattanzio da Rimini (16th century), the Pala dell’Assunta, considered the work of Alvise Vivarini, the wooden baptismal font with paintings by Andrea Schiavone (from the15th-16th century).

In addition to the bell tower, used as an art gallery with the permanent exhibition of the works of Emilio Greco, there is the small church of the Assumption, which is the remained part of the demolished convent of Santa Maria della Misericordia. In the Town Hall (1848) there are about 70 canvases on display by the Noalese painter Egisto Lancerotto (1847-1916) and in the crossroads in the center of the town you can also admire the column called “della Pace” (16th century), the work of Paolo Pino Veneziano. In Piazza XX Settembre there is the Palazzo Scotto (1600), seat of the Municipal Library and of the Historical Archive (which dates back to 1405), the third most important one in the province of Venice.

The two squares are characterized by two rows of arcades and several Venetian houses, some of them with traces of 16th century frescoes.

Noale, therefore, a historic town, but modern and functional at the same time, because it is crossed by the Venice-Trento railway network, it is served by the Padua-Treviso and Noale-Venice bus lines, and it’s close to the Marco Polo Airport in Venice and Canova Airport in Treviso.

Noale has an industrial-commercial clientele, but it also warmly welcomes all types of tourists with professionalism. Its hotel facilities are equipped with the newest and most essential comfort services to satisfy all types of customers who visit the centre of the important triangle of Padua-Venice-Treviso, which are rich in history and equally important industrial centers. There are accomodation facilities which have been set up to meet all the needs of precious customers and ready to satisfy all their needs. Hotels whose primary objective is to make clients feel a bit like home, while offering a professional distinctive service with cordiality and courtesy.

Thanks to the centrality of Noale, we can recommend some excursions for you and we can help with the organization.
